Why can a mortgage company sell your mortgage without your permission?

By applying with a particular company, you are giving that permisssion.  A servicing disclosure is provided at time of application.  Several things to note:  Nothing can change with the terms of your note & mortgage in the event of the sale of the note or the transfer of the servicing [where you send payments].  You get written notice by both buyer and seller of the servicing.  You have 60 days from the notice to have your payments credited effective as of the date the old servicer receives them.  You can always ask if a lender sells the loan.  But is is likely that you will not have a favorabel rates and terms if that is the case.
