i have little trust in anyone i’ve had contact with that has been a part of my financial past. this includes my attorney, lenders, brokers, and the government. i’m going to include my husband too. i’m trying to do research, but the internet gives a pletheria of ads for professionals, but no real valuable advice. If i have to divorce to gain financial freedom, that’s what i’ll do. i am a very tired consumer that wants to wipe my slate clean. i have paid high interest rates in the 30% range on prior credit cards; I have had to pay $15,000 plus for pre-payment penalties in an adjustable mortgage i found myself in (i allowed this to occur because i was too busy working nights, taking care of two babies and a home with 4 to 5 hours of sleep. There was trouble in our marraige and i gave up.) I’ve also been lied to by a mortgage broker that appraised our home for way more than it was worth for a refi! And i have been strapped in a chapter 13 bankruptcy for 4 years with no disposable cash to pay for anything. my income has dropped $6000 annually (10% of my annual income) since we filed bankruptcy. Are the programs recently made available by Obama for my best interest or that of the mortgage holders? We are with Wells Fargo. Help someone, please. BTW, we were never late with credit card payments or mortgage payments when we went into bankruptcy. Our bankruptcy attorney included our mortgage in the chap 13 because he said we had to. I’m not sure that is true. But that’s the reality of my situation now that I can’t change. Thank you in advance for even reading about my plight. We live in Florida.

You did not have to include the mortgage in BK13. Will your BK13 be satisfied in one year? If so FHA might be the only solutions if rates stay low depending on your current rate. For FHA you need Trustee approval or discharge but you may be close if it is structured for 5 years?
