How can I get a mortgage when I have a county court judgement

I have had a county court judgment against me which has been paid in full over 12 months ago. Due to this I cannot get the house signed over to my soul name from my current lender. I have tried several more lenders and I have had the same response. What can I do?

There are two things you can do to possibly rectify this. If the lender is basing their decision on a judgement that does not show as paid, you should contact the creditor and ask them to notify the court that the judgement has been paid in full. This will not remove the reference from your credit report, (or improve your credit score) but will show as paid in full which should satisfy most lender requirements. The other possibility would be to ask that the creditor vacate the original judgement since it has been paid in full. If they agree to vacate the judgement, this will remove the reference from your credit report. Outside of these two options, a judgement will remain on your credit report for seven years from the date of filing. Once the seven years has elapsed, this should no longer be an issue.
