The best way to find out about Identity Theft is to order your credit report from a company like TrueCredit.com or FreeCreditReport.com for a small fee, if you do not have the money you can get 1 free Credit Report per year from all three agencies however they are very difficult to read and understand.

Once you get them, look over all your accounts on ALL 3 Credit reports (Transunion, Equifax and Experian) and make sure all of the accounts on there are yours. If they are great, then you do not have to worry but if they are not then you need to immediately send a letter to all three credit agencies or call them to let them know that you believe there has been identity theft on your Social Security number and why. Here is the way to contact all three agencies

Experian

P. O. Box 9595 [see note], Allen, TX 75013-9595 Tel: 888-397-3742

Equifax

P. O. Box 740241, Atlanta, GA 30374-0241 Tel: 800-685-1111

Trans Union

P. O. Box 1000, Chester, PA 19022 Tel: 800-888-4213.

After that, call all three agencies and start working on getting them off your report. Being in the Credit Restoration Business I have seen some people take up to 2-3 years to get it off their report.

I hope this help’s.
